Your Holiness,
Beloved Holy Father!
As believers of the Catholic Church, devoted to Our Lord Jesus Christ and gazing at His Most Holy Mother – the Queen of Peace, we wish to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary! At the same time we dare to make another request – for the official establishment in the Church of the Devotion of the Five First Saturdays, as a reparation for sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Holy Father,
We remember well the message of Our Lady of Fatima, which at the same time was a message of tragedy and but also of hope. Her prophecy contained a vision of the calamities that would befall the world – wars, famine, persecution of the Church and even of the Pope. Mary then offered us concrete instructions on how to avert these terrible events: she explicitly requested the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart and doing reparation and the receiving of Holy Communion on the first Saturdays of five consecutive months. By making this momentous act of consecration of Russia, you have fulfilled the first part of the request of the Immaculate Virgin – we trust that you will also wish to encourage Catholics throughout the world to strive to fulfil the second part of Our Lady’s request.
Some Catholics already practice the devotion that Mary asked to be established at Fatima, that is, on the first Saturdays of five consecutive months, they go to confession, receive Holy Communion and try to make amends for sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary by praying the Rosary and meditating on its mysteries. Still, there are not enough of us. Like Our Lady, we would like as many of our brothers and sisters in faith to join in this pious practice. This would be possible if the devotion became widespread in the whole Church and, moreover, was supported by a papal message calling for its practice.
Holy Father,
You have repeatedly let us know that you consider peace to be one of the most important values. The Blessed Mother announced that if we listen to her requests, “Russia will be converted and there will be peace. If not, [Russia] will spread its errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Holy Church. The good will be tormented, the Holy Father will have to suffer much, various nations will be annihilated.”
This is why we ask you to establish this devotion of reparation for sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, as the Lord Jesus Himself wishes of us and as He communicated at Fatima through His beloved Mother.”
For our part, we pledge to support you in this imperative act. As devotees of Mary, we wish to pray the Rosary often, take part in the First Saturdays Devotion and make reparation to Her Immaculate Heart for the sins of mankind. In the first place, for our own sins.
Holy Father,
As humble sons and daughters of the Church, we beg you to hear our petition. Please accept the assurance of our prayers for your intentions, for the Holy Church and the destiny of the whole world.
In Jesus Christ
At Fatima, Our Lady gave a message that was both tragic and hopeful for humanity. Her prophecy contained a vision of the calamities that would come upon the world – wars, famine, persecution of the Church and even of the Pope. Mary then offered concrete advice on how to prevent these terrible events: she explicitly requested the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart and doing and the receiving of Holy Communion on the first Saturdays of the month.
With the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the first request of the Immaculate Virgin has been fulfilled. As lay Catholics we wish to fulfil completely the desire of Jesus, communicated to us in the Message of His Mother.
Many Catholics around the world already practice this devotion privately, that is, on the first Saturdays of five consecutive months, they go to confession, receive Holy Communion and try to make reparation for their sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary by praying the rosary and meditating on its mysteries. These are personal prayers and piety of individual Catholics. We wish – in accordance with Our Mother’s will – that as many as possible of our brothers and sisters in the faith join this pious practice. This will transpire if this devotion is mandated for the whole Church.
With the Holy Father’s support, especially the establishment of this devotion for the universal Church, will give the best testimony to the acceptance of the Message and of the profound compliance to the call for conversion. Only the fidelity of the Church will complete the conditions in which the vision of the fulfilment of Mary’s promises will become possible.
